なにかにもたれかかって、従属を求める自分のつっかえ棒をはずすべく、賭けに出るということは、人生の中であるものです。
今回の「みんつど」第49号は、天地成行さんが高校生のときから知り合いという、Yokoさんが、カナダへ翔んだときのお話です。
崖っぷちの上に立って、Leap before you look! というのは、脳内座談会の「あり方委員会」でも、なかなか通らない決断です。
49年前、私と妻の貴子の二人が、結婚したときも、そしてアフリカへ行ってみようと決断したときも、あまりにも就職がないので沖縄で暮らすことにしたときも、アフリカに行けなくなってフランスで暮らしたときも、何かの成算があったかといえば、なかった。
暗い土の上に叩きつけられても、繰り返し繰り返し飛ぶのは、人が昔むかし鳥だったからかもと歌姫はうたいますけれど、自分なら飛べるという根拠薄弱な自信のようなものが背中を押すことはあります。
若い頃はそんな向こう見ずもありです。
いま、新しく２ヘクタールも農地を買って、４軒目の家の雨漏りを直しつつ、堆肥小屋を建て直したりているのは、年寄りのひやみずにしても、ちょっとじゃなくおかしい。
おかしくったっていいさ。やりたいことをできるだけしあわせ。
とはいえ「たいした人生ではなかったが、ああおもしろかったよ、ガクッ！」 と前のめりに倒れるのは、本人はよくても、はた迷惑。
