このたび作成したLINKAGE Artbook03の内容を紹介する。1477年2月、朝鮮済州島の人びとが与那国島に漂着し、2年余りをかけて島々を護送されて帰国。3人の漂流民と5か月半をともに過ごした与那国島の人びとは、そのできごとを詳細に伝承していた。《ふがぬとぅ》（他所人）と呼ばれた彼らとの異文化交流と学びあいの日々についての口頭伝承を、最後の伝承者がビジュアル化した画文集。サンゴの育つ南の島の限られた自然資源を持続的に利用してきた知恵の数々が形成された歴史を雄弁に物語るこの伝承は、気候変動と戦争の時代を生きる地球人の未来への指針である。
We present the contents of our recently created LINKAGE Artbook03.
In February 1477, three Jeju Island drifters were rescued on Yonaguni Island. They were escorted back to Chosun over a period of two years and left behind the first historical record of the Yaeyama Islands. The Yonaguni Islanders, who spent five and a half months with the three drifters, have a detailed tradition of what happened. In this book, the last person to pass down the oral traditions of the three castaways, who were called “Fuganutu" (strangers), visualizes their days of cross-cultural exchange and learning from each other. This tradition eloquently illustrates the history of the formation of the wisdom of the people of the island, who have made sustainable use of the limited natural resources of the coral-growing island, and is a guide to the future for earthlings living in an era of climate change and war.
