After watching the video The Reliable Friend Pluto-kun: a Story of
Plutonium on

a person named "Pink Tentacle" kindly and quickly made a version with Englis
h abstracts. It was a video made by the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Deve
lopment Corporation、PNC (Donen) Japan.
Since this video was withdrawn quickly after its release because of the
protest from the US government, very few people own the original with a
higher resolution. It tries to convince younger generations that
Plutonium is not so dangerous as you imagine or many anti-nuclear
activists insist.

In the early 1990s, Japan's Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development
Corporation (PNC) -- a nuclear energy research organization which is now
part of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) -- created a pro-nuclear PR
cartoon entitled "Pluto-kun, Our Reliable Friend." The aim of the animated
film, which features the company mascot Pluto-kun, is to dispel some of
the fears surrounding plutonium. Scroll down for a rough summary.
